One Cabinet Painting Trade, One City, Every Kind Of Cabinet

Kitchens, built-ins, pantries, vanities and islands in houses and condos across Vaughan, Woodbridge, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg, King City, Nobleton and Bolton are sprayed, refinished or refaced by Vaughan Cabinet Painting. Every job we take on is fully insured. Cabinet painting is the only trade we work in, which is why we can talk about a specific golden oak kitchen in Brownridge or a thermofoil galley near Highway 7 instead of talking about paint in general.

The houses set the agenda. Site-built boxes in old Woodbridge, honey oak in East Woodbridge, early-2000s maple in Sonoma Heights, builder thermofoil in Patterson and factory shaker in the towers at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre each want their own primer, their own amount of prep and occasionally a completely different recommendation. Most of the skill is telling them apart before a price is written.

Prep Decides Whether Cabinet Painting Lasts, So Prep Is Never Shortened

Cabinet painting fails for four reasons and no others: grease sealed in beneath the primer, a surface nobody sanded, a primer that did not match the substrate, or a coat laid on thick and pressed into service soft. Every one of those is a decision made on the first day, not a defect that appears later.

So each door and drawer front comes down carrying a number. A degreaser strong enough for the build-up lifts the cooking film off, abrasive takes the sheen down to dull, and the primer answers the substrate: shellac for oak and cherry, a bonding product on melamine, thermofoil and laminate, ordinary cabinet primer for maple, MDF and anything with paint on it already. Topcoats are waterborne alkyd enamel or catalysed 2K polyurethane, thin, sanded between passes. Doors ride to the booth; boxes are finished where they stand, for reasons the cabinet spray painting page explains. Each service we offer has its own page on the services page.

A Cabinet Painting Quote Names Doors, Substrate, Primer, Topcoat And Coats

One total for a whole kitchen tells a homeowner nothing and leaves room for extras once the doors are down. Ours counts doors, drawer fronts, boxes, end panels, names the substrate, notes any need for grain fill or bonding primer, names the primer and topcoat family, states the sheen and coat count, prices hardware work, and puts the island, the pantry and the interiors on separate lines.

The visit that produces it takes about half an hour and costs nothing. What a complete quote covers is shown on the kitchen cabinet painting page, and the counted approach used on big custom kitchens is on the custom kitchen cabinet painting page.

How We Work

  • Prep Is Never Shortened

Cabinet painting fails from grease under the primer, an unsanded surface, the wrong primer or a coat laid on thick. Every one is a first-day decision, so each door is numbered, degreased, sanded dull and primed for its material.

  • Quotes Name Every Detail

One total tells a homeowner nothing. Our written quote counts doors, drawer fronts, boxes and end panels, names the substrate, primer, topcoat, sheen and coats, and gives islands, pantries and interiors their own lines.

  • Honest Advice Over Order-Taking

We say when thermofoil has lifted too far, when solid cherry deserves keeping, when a sink base has swollen past rescue and when a white will go yellow beside a gold counter. We spray a sample door to prove it.

  • The Cure Gets Respected

Rehanging happens when the film can be handled, but the job is over when the cure is. Written care notes cover the weeks that follow: soft cloths, no abrasives, no weight on a door, and care at the pulls.
